I don’t know about you guys, but in the midst of thinking, “2015 is going to be fannnntastic!” I’ve started to realize I want a little break from working. So I thought of some things I (or anyone) could do to switch gears and have a bit of fun whether for a few hours or a few days.
Binge watch the crap out of some movies and TV. Seriously. Do it until you’re sick of it. That’s when you’ll wake up and just be ready to conquer the world. I may speak from plenty of experience. Plus, Amazon and Netflix have really stepped up their movie game lately. I say enjoy it!
Do something new! And I don’t mean conquer your fear of heights and go sky diving. Calm down, spaz. I mean, cook that dish you’ve been eyeing on Pinterest. Finally sign up for a paint & drink class (seriously, it’s super fun). Take a class to learn a new skill! Work on doing handstands! Anything that gets your brain cracking in a new and inspired way will refresh and invigorate you.
Start meditating. This is something that’s been on my to-do list for awhile. No time like the new year, right? Also, the benefits of meditation are way too plentiful to not do it. Considering my inability to focus (I’ve been texting with a friend, watching an Oprah video, googling bacon-wrapped asparagus, and more, all while working on this blog post), this is exactly what I need. Come at me, zen.
Anyway – that’s it! Just a few ways to recharge, either through mindlessness, mindfulness, or challenging tasks. Either way, make sure to take time to enjoy yourself, and reflect on all that’s great in your life this holiday season.
Let me know how you plan on recharging this break!
