Every once in awhile I think it’s fun to take a break from tutorials and biz stuff and just get to know the people I work with! I worked with Lily last year to build her site. Lily is a pure joy to work with, she writes super compelling blog posts (I’m not a parent and I still enjoy reading them) and her latest offering, a free download of 5 Teacher Tricks All Parents Should Know, is pretty fantastic.
(Fun fact: her daughter’s name is Matilda, and my dog’s name is Lady Matilda. Both were named after the Roald Dahl book!)
Let’s get to know Lily!
What is your name?
What is the name of your business?
How did you get the idea to start your business?
I was a teacher for seven years, then had my daughter three years ago. After her birth, I started thinking about education from a parent’s perspective. I wanted to create something that would empower parents to support their children to love learning.
Who would most benefit from your services?
Parents of kids ages 2-10 who are interested in getting involved in their kids’ education.
What is one thing you’ve learned as a business owner?
I’m learning how my work is never done! I love the endless dreaming, scheming, and planning that comes with being a business owner. But I’m also learning to take time off and take breaks from thinking about the biz.
Greatest achievement for your business so far?
Starting my blog and building my audience of interested & interesting parents.
Do you have a favorite quote for motivation/life/because it’s just awesome?
If you can dream it, you can build it.
Tell us about you! What would your ideal day look like?
I love spending time with my three-year-old, walking our dog and cooking up all sorts of crazy stuff. My ideal day would involve family time, reading time, and dreaming time.
