Big announcement: I’m changing the title of this monthly post to Side Hustle Talk. I chose Solopreneur Talk a while back because I consider myself to be more than just a freelancer. But Solopreneur… that’s not quite me. And each month a little bit of me says, “Realllly?” Like in that, “oh, you really only ate one donut this morning?” kind of voice.
So I realized Side Hustle is so much more appropriate. And hopefully it will attract an audience that can totally relate – the people who think about all the things they need to get done each week (between their full-time job, their side job, and their personal life), and their head just melts. What up, buddy?! *waves*
My lessons this month are also more reminders I think we all can benefit from, and I’ve got two instead of three.
I realized something recently: I used to be way more full of life, fun, and carefree. And being that way felt fun! And as I get older, that slowly fades as I gain more responsibility and become more fearful of what will happen if I lose control of my spinning plates.
And yeah, Tiff, that’s called Growing Up. But lately Fun Tiff has been peeking her head through, and it’s been fab. There’s been more socializing, contemplating talking to a cute guy (baby steps), planning trips to Nantucket and Montreal, and more.
I’m also bringing that into my biz, with plans to incorporate more video and silliness into my brand and blog. So be on the lookout for more fun and personality in my blog posts and website.
YOUR TURN: Are you taking time to have fun? How are you going to have fun this week? Tell me in the blog comments below.
Last week I posted on my Facebook page a link to an article called “If You’re Not Happy, Stop Complaining and Make a Change.”
I wrote it in 5 seconds, and it came from deep down, from a firmly held belief that I have.
So I’m going to talk a little bit about my outlook on life, because I want to see if it resonates with anyone else.
In college I got the word CHOICE tattooed on my right arm. It was inspired by one of my favorite books, Still Life With Woodpecker. And I love it because choice is what it’s all about. I love people who take action without being asked, and who confidently choose a path even if they’ve never taken it before, or if they have no idea where it will lead them. They just know that they want to live their life by their own rules, and they make it happen.
YOUR TURN: Does this resonate with you? I’m guessing it does, because you wouldn’t be reading this blog post if you weren’t reaching for something a little better or different in life.
I’d love to hear your stories about how you got started with your blog, and what your goals are for it. I’ll help in any way I can, even if it’s just words of encouragement. Comment below or email me.
